Believing God for Breakthrough. 

Good Day.

She is beautiful, middle-aged, scared, and mostly alone in the world.  Seven days ago, late at night, I saw her post on Facebook that she is about to be sent home from the hospital for hospice to tend to her last days….wait, what?  

We have enjoyed a relationship of mutual love and respect, but I had not seen her in several years, just been traveling different paths.  I immediately sent a note, ‘where are you?  I will come to you tomorrow.’  Through Friday afternoon traffic, I made the drive to Los Angeles to do what I know to do—show up, love her up, and lift her up to the Only Wise God.  Seems she had gone into the emergency room one week prior, thinking she had a bronchial infection; not so, turns out it is breast cancer—and in her lungs, liver and spine.  So hard to believe—she looks so beautiful with her tanned skin, long brown hair, with blonde highlights, bright brown eyes with golden flecks… but she is one sick girl!  I beseech you, pray with me on Lorraine’s behalf.

Devastation on a massive scale in New Jersey and New York—the like of which has not been seen, and now a snowstorm sending freezing temperatures to people without power, many holed up in shelters … earthquake in Guatemala…52 dead so far.  And yes, a national election that has left many reeling and unsure.  ‘Feel me?

We must remember who we are and whose we are, Friends. 

God is on the throne.  He is not afar off or disinterested in our needs. 

Listen! The LORD's arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call.”  Isaiah 59.1

His promises are good; his promises are true, and they are sure.  Take a look at some of them, print them out, carry them with you, memorize them.

Do you need to make a decision?                                                             God says: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.”  Psalm 32.8                                                   Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."  Isaiah 30.21                                                          ‘If you need wisdom, ask God, he will give it to you.’  James 1.5

Feeling alone?  The Lord your God is with you; he is mighty to save. Zeph. 3.17

Are you worried or anxious?                                                                                           “The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”  Deut. 31.8 "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Matthew 11.28-29  

So tired…wondering how you will keep going? “Because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3.22,23

‘In need of a breakthrough in your life?  God’s promises reveal his great love for you, and his desire to guide your life with his love.  Look to the One who loves you more than life.
