Contentment … in your solitude and serenity.

Come on … I dare you!  Take an hour and do something different. 

This is a unique ‘take’ that offers you an opportunity to have a mini-spiritual retreat—just God and you!  I periodically hold a “Morning of Serenity” at a beach near my home in Southern California, offering folks an opportunity to be with God in a unique way.  This briefing is my attempt at sharing the experience with folks in the 116 countries to which these briefings go.  It is wonderful to slow down, be contemplative and deliberative.  So, print it out, grab a pen, and take yourself to a place of some quiet … go ahead, I am praying for you!  

Come Away to a Time of Serenity

                              (If you do this exercise with someone,  agree to observe silence)

This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says:

"In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength,                                     but you would have none of it. Isaiah 30.     

 Use this guide as a tool to help you,

“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46.10

A prayer:  Lord, please remove distractions from my heart and mind that I might ‘just be’ with you.  Meet me here, I pray.   Amen 

Take a moment to MEDITATE on these verses:

“I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.  I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.    Philippians 4.11-12

Take a prayer walk ~ along the beach, down a country road, in a park, whatever … thank, praise, observe, listen … give God a little more quiet.
