And because Peter does not mince words in Acts 3.12-26

Thinking you really only want a little bit of God, a smallish, safe faith?

The only reason I can think your answer might be ‘yes’ is because you haven’t experienced relationship with him—i.e., you really don’t know the Lord.

You can wade into the water by talking to him,

and then learn to listen to him.

Taste and see that the LORD is good;

blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.

Psalm 34.8

A prayer for today.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for you, and thank you for the gift of life today!  God, you are not just great, you are good; and because of that, you long to fill the hands of your children with good gifts. Like David, I want to “taste and see that the

Lord is good”!  I am blessed because I am able to see and hear this morning. You have watched over me, answered my prayers, and you keep on blessing me. Let me not whine, whimper or worry over things I have no control.

Let me continue to see sin through God's eyes and acknowledge it as evil. And when I sin, let me repent, and confess with my mouth my wrongdoing, and receive the forgiveness of God.  Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you. I ask now for your forgiveness . . . Thank you for being a forgiving and empathetic God.

Please keep me safe from all danger and harm.

Let me remember Jesus' example -- to slip away and find a quiet place to pray. Help me start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each day to clear my mind so that I can hear from you.  It's the best way to start my day, and the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits.

Give me the courage to do your will. Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Help me be strong in you so I may help those who are weak. Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. I pray for those who are lost and can't find their way, for those who are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don't know you intimately, that they would desire to do so. I pray for those who don't believe in you that you would open their eyes to the possibility and truth of you.

I believe that God changes people and God changes things. I pray for all my sisters and brothers, for every family member in their households. I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes, that their needs are met.

Help me remember there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than you, God. I commit every battle into your hands for you to fight.

This is my prayer.

In Jesus' Name,

Amen.
