A LITTLE WHILE.

‘In a little while, we'll be with the Father . . .  can't you see Him smile?

In a little while, we'll be home forever, in a while....

We're just here to learn to love Him; we'll be home in just a little while . . . ‘1

***NEWS FLASH***  This world is not your home—you are just passing through. . . the time of Jesus’ return is getting oh, so close.  As a matter of fact, there is no end-of-times prophecy yet to be fulfilled.   So, growing your relationship with your Heavenly Father matters more than most of what you and I put our hands to on a daily basis.

In between our study of 1 and 2 Corinthians, we have been looking at the matter of prayer.  Praying is as simple as breathing, though it can be quite complex, but when we give ourselves to it, is very meaningful … ”The moment you discover the treasure of prayer in the field of your heart, you will go off full of joy and sell all that you possess in order to have that treasure.”2  Ah, there is much to be gained in discussing how to better communicate with God.  Folks have been especially moved in the lessons about how to better hear God’s voice.

But in the last week or so, I have made some observations that are worth sharing, from events in the lives of dear friends and loved ones:

>the diagnosis of “cancer” comes down, shaking an entire family,

>a 12 –year-old boy, who should be the picture of vitality, is smitten with some mystery malady, and is unable to walk due to his severe pain and intestinal distress, a lengthy hospital stay,

>a beloved prayer warrior and saint suffers from uncontrollable pain following surgery, and at these times……

our prayer life assumes much greater importance, as we cry out to God!

The storms of life rock both our hearts and minds in such a way that we are desperate for a touch from God.  Yes, it seems that having our hearts truly stirred sets in motion a plea for God’s intervention, prompting fervent prayer when we weren’t so fervent before the circumstance . . . (what do you think about that?)

I heard from my pastor friend in Pakistan this week, who writes:(copied as written)  I greet you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is coming soon.  It is good to hear from you that you are praying for Pakistani persecution people and for brother David who have prison due to blasphemy law which is from Muslims people. I believe with your powerful prayers God will intervene on the behalf of brother David. I am very excited to meet you again and I pray to the Lord that He always propel with abundant blessings.  Otherwise our "Great Shelter Trust" ministry is working on persecution people so I kindly request you please also put to this ministry in your prayers.  May the more and more anointing and fire of Holy Ghost be with you and your ministry here.

Your brother in Christ

Rev.Robin Raz,  President of the "Great Gospel Church" Is there any doubt that Brother Raz fully depends on prayer—his own and those of other fellow believers—for his ministry, and probably his very life?

Yes, it is vital that we learn to shake the very gates of Heaven with our prayers when we need God to move; and it is also desirable that we maintain a meaningful prayer life when our backs are not against the wall, eh?

Here is another **NEWS FLASH**  If prayer is the glove that readies, guides, and sustains us, God’s Word is the hand that goes inside of that glove.  You see, we cannot know the heart of God toward us—toward our petitions and prayers—without learning who he is, how he moves, and how he loves his children.  We learn who he is in the pages of Scripture.  We cannot pray in accordance with God’s will without knowing what is the good and perfect will of God, which he so eloquently set forth for us in the Word.

Paul wrote, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly….”3  And so we apprehend the Word of God; we learn it, we apply it, and we give it away.

Back to the song.....In a little while, we’ll be with the Father . . . can’t you see him smile?  He will smile at you because he knows you and loves you, and he will look you in the eye, and say, “Welcome home, Child.”  In a little while, we’ll be home forever – in a while.  We’re just here to learn to love him—we do that by pouring ourselves into relationship with him—taking a little while to read his Word and talk with him-- ‘cuz we’ll be home IN A LITTLE WHILE.
